2. To ensure that the heated glue will make contact with all of the books pages, you must fan the pages of the book block.

3. Then, you will want to insert the book block into the opening that is on top of the machine. You must ensure that the book is positioned so that it is flush to the right of the machine, and as always, that the pages are perfectly square.

4. Push the large green button, closing the clamp.

5. The FB15xs will detect the size of the book you are binding and will display which size of binding strip you should use. You then insert the strip into the opening on the right side of the machine, and the FB15xs will take over the process from there.

6. Once the book has been run through the machine, place it on the convenient cooling rack, and allow the heated adhesive to cool down for a bit.

7. When the book is cool to the touch, you may remove it, and it is ready for use.

The Fastback system is, as we've stated, one of the easiest and most elegant binding systems available. There are, however, some limitations that you should be aware of.

1. Though any cover stock can be used with the system, due to the high temperature used by the heating element, some types of clear poly and plastic covers can become warped during the process. There are, however, several types of clear covers that are designed to take the heat and can be used.

2. Most thermal binding systems have problems with some of the glossier papers, and the Fastback is no exception. Though users have come up with a few solutions, such as sanding the edges of the paper so the glue sticks better, the best solution for this kind of paper appears to be to staple the biding edge before binding.

3. Some printers use a certain kind of oil during the toner transfer process. This toner oil can cause similar problems as glossy pages. This especially true if you have pages that are printed with a full-bleed. Again, the best solution appears to be stapling the binding edges.

4. Another problem is that large numbers of changes are not possible with thermal binding. The Fastback does have a system in place for the addition or deletion of a few pages here and there. However, larger edits won't work well with the Fastback system.

Why is Singing Important?

Q: The preschool teacher of my child says that singing is very crucial for her. What then will I do? What song will I sing?

A: S/he is indeed a concerned preschool teacher. It is good to realize that kids will definitely enjoy learning how to sing. However she went beyond and overlooked the part of early development of childhood that specifically points to the attainment of literacy. One of the greatest ways on how to enhance the awareness on the sound which is very vital in learning how to read well is singing.

To explain further, let’s talk about phonics. The importance of phonics is it enables children to be aware that each letter in the alphabet has a corresponding sound. An example is the sound of letter ‘d’ in the word ‘dog’. There are several sounds to learn and some letters can produce more than a single sound. An example is the letter ‘c’. In the word ‘circus, c is known to be a soft sound while in the word ‘car’ c is a distinguished to be a hard sound. In the word ‘chair’, c is also drawn in the sound ‘ch’. So now you can see that at least 3 sounds can be made by just a single letter.

When the kids are just getting started on learning how to read, phonic skills can be hard to deal for them especially if they are not exposed before to various sounds for them to listen to that are not at all related to letters or words.

The sound of language is therefore crucial for them to understand. You can get to play with sounds like the animal sounds, create senseless words, make them say the words that rhymes and those that starts with the same sound and anything that you can come up with. You can see if the child is aware of phonics if they can distinguish the rhyme of another word as well as create his own word even if it implies no meaning.

And now let’s go back to singing. Music can be jointly heard and spoken. To be able to learn a song, a child doesn’t have to know how to read. It is more of celebrating the sound of language since music is full of alliteration, rhymes and various patterns of sound. By letting them singing their favorite songs repeatedly, they become conscious of the sounds and how they can control them – split them, mix them, emphasize specific ones while playing down others.

And so the upshot is this – Sing your heart out. It is great to go back once in a while in singing the usual songs of children, and from there you can also train your child to learn your very own favorite song – be it pop, jazz, rock, and you can even compose a song together. In this manner, you are able to inculcate to your child to love the language which is the basis to know how to read.

Panicked, Sweat-Covered Pope Reverses Longstanding Ban On Abortion

VATICAN CITY—Overturning 2,000 years of religious doctrine, an out-of-breath and visibly flustered Pope Benedict XVI announced Sunday that the termination of unwanted pregnancies was now "completely and perfectly acceptable in the eyes of God."

Following a wild night on the town, a frantic Pope Benedict XVI proclaims that "not every life is sacred."

The divine proclamation, which contradicts prior teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, was reportedly made by Pope Benedict after a late night phone call to his Vatican residence. According to witnesses, His Holiness was seen pacing back and forth, nervously wringing his hands, and cursing at himself in a hallway mirror before coming to the sudden decision.

"My friends in Christ, brothers and sisters of the cloth, having an abortion is...err...not that big a deal," announced the anxious pontiff while reading from a series of hastily scrawled edicts. "In fact, it is written, uh, somewhere, that the taking of an innocent life might even be something of a blessing in some cases."

"For example, when a mother's life is at risk," continued Benedict, wiping several beads of sweat from his forehead. "Or, say, when someone is just way too old to become a father at this point."

Shocking a crowd of thousands that had gathered in St. Peter's Square, the infallible religious leader declared Sunday that the killing of an unborn child is "not really a mortal sin," especially if everyone involved pretty much wished the whole thing had never happened.

The pope prays that there is at least one Planned Parenthood Center left in all of Rome.

"The Lord hath come unto me when I could not sleep and He hath said, 'This is totally an option now,'" proclaimed Benedict, taking off his miter to fan himself. "Also, He hath said that some people should probably go out and get this done, like, today, and that they shouldn't tell anyone else about it. Umm...Amen."

The pope, who on many occasions prior had called abortion a "crime against society," admitted Sunday that, on second thought, "some things are not actually that straightforward."

Pausing momentarily to take a drink of water, Benedict went on to stress that certain religious doctrines no longer apply in today's world, and that, perhaps, they ought to be weighed against more modern considerations, such as making a problem go away.

Other important factors outlined by Benedict included length of pregnancy, the possibility of health complications, and whether or not two people just met one crazy night, got a little carried away, and made the biggest mistake of both their lives.

"All women, particularly those by the name of Sheila, deserve the right to choose," Benedict said. "And if they choose wrongly—if they choose to keep the child, even though that does not make any sense, and might very well ruin someone's career—then maybe they should just leave the country and never come back."

The Holy Father then called for a moment of silence while he tried to "figure some stuff out."

Though he spent most of his papal address on the issue of abortion, Benedict also delivered a number of lesser decrees. Stunning all in attendance, the head of the Catholic Church announced that contraceptives were, in fact, not a grave evil, and recommended that birth control be used by everyone, even those who claim they are already on it, but as it turns out, are really not.

In addition, His Holiness asserted that he might have been wrong about the dangers of self-gratification. Shaking his head in grave disappointment, Benedict said he could now see how the lustful act might prevent some people from running out in the middle of the night, jumping inside of a glass-encased vehicle, and speeding to the nearest bar.

Benedict's most impassioned plea, however, focused on the importance of forgiveness.

"All of God's children make mistakes," said the head of the Vatican, who reportedly took the Lord's name in vain on 43 separate occasions during his address. "Be it disrespecting our parents, lying to friends, or thinking if we keep our robes on the whole time nothing bad will ever happen—we all do things that we later come to regret."

"However, it is important that we not let these mistakes ruin everything we've worked so hard for, okay?" he added. "I mean, come on, just get rid of it already. I said I was sorry for trying to push you down those basilica stairs. What more do you want from me? I'm begging you, please."

What’s bigger than the recession? Climate change. And world leaders are struggling to agree how to tackle it. Good news: there is something you can do about it. Environmentally focused approaches are creating green jobs that in turn can become the “green shoots” of recovery that the UK economy so badly needs.

Green jobs are not sidelined for the stereotype of “do-gooders” in brown cords and woolly jumpers – it’s a pragmatic way to help change the world around you.

Combating climate change
Climate change is natural. It is the atmosphere’s way of adapting to the amount of energy it receives from the sun.

If these changes take centuries, the biosphere can adapt normally. However, climate change is currently taking place too fast. Over the last 200 years human activity such as burning fossil fuels, dramatic population growth and clearing woodland areas has increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

According to the Committee on Climate Change, the UK needs to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 34% by 2020. This number is likely to increase if the UN negotiations this December in Copenhagen leads to a new deal.

A report released recently by Greenpeace International and the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) indicated that a strong deal in Copenhagen could create 6.9 million jobs within the clean energy sector across the globe by 2030.

Reuters reported on a statement made by Greenpeace USA’s global arming campaign director, Damon Moglen who said: “Global leaders can tackle the twin crises of global economic recession and climate change head on by investing in renewable energy.

“We can choose green jobs and growth or unemployment, ecological and social collapse.”

Green-collar jobs the seeds to recovery

The Government doesn’t have a choice in the battle against climate change. If they do not comply with powerful and effective eco-friendly projects, they face massive financial penalties.

Combating climate change directly creates jobs which could ultimately help the country back to recovery.

But where will the money come from?

Currently the UK looses £650m per year through improper recycling. According to a report from Friends of the Earth, we send recyclable resources to landfills or incinerators which lead to 19 million tonnes of unnecessary carbon dioxide.

Dr Michael Warhurst, from Friends of the Earth commented to the Ecologist: “The UK is woefully lagging behind much of Europe on recycling.

“Flanders in Belgium recycles over 70 per cent of its waste – that’s twice as much as we recycle here.

“Our low recycling rate means that we have to import more expensive resources like aluminium – this is economic madness when they could be recycled here and sold for profit instead.”

Presently the Government has implemented multiple green schemes that include funding electric car production in the UK.

A £2.3bn aid package has been made available and Tata Motors has already received £10m to build the Indica Vista EV in the country.

Nissan has awarded its UK factory in Sunderland the opportunity to produce lithium batteries for their electric car.

Sunderland employs 4,000 workers and Business Secretary Lord Mandelson is hopeful that the factory might also win the full production on the vehicle.
“The Government is doing everything possible to secure electric vehicle production in Sunderland,” he commented to The Northern Echo.

Lord Mandelson added: “I am excited that we are going to see battery production in Britain, and I’m very hopeful that will be followed up by the full car production.”
In the field of renewable energy, Glasgow has recently been chosen as the appropriate location to build a £20million research centre.

The centre will have to come up with a multi-billion pound renewable energy programme for the entire Europe. This project will create 250 top engineering jobs, the Herald Scotland reported.
The future according to the Conservative Party will sprout a “Green Deal”.
The deal will introduce plans to green UK homes in order to cut carbon emissions and create jobs.
Tories will create energy efficiency services that will earn £2.5bn a year and create around 70,000 jobs and additional apprenticeships.

There are a number of jobs that have a green approach other than working in renewable energy, eco-friendly construction or hybrid vehicles. Green jobs include hydrologist, environmental engineers, pest control technicians, conservation biologist, science teacher, toxicologists, pollution control technicians, ecologists and the list continues.

Benefiting from going green

Green projects lead to job creation and generates money, which in turn funds more eco-friendly schemes and career opportunities.

The benefits of green projects are endless. Apart from the physical improvements to the environment and the economy, there is also other ways to gain.

An eco-friendly approach to your corporation can influence your company’s image positively. As more consumers become environmentally conscious, their purchasing habits transform as well.

According to Workplace Culture, being eco-friendly encourages productivity and job satisfaction.

A survey conducted by the Kenexa Research Institute (KRI) in 13 countries revealed that sustainability programmes have a constructive influence on employees.

Not everyone can drop their current jobs and join the World Wildlife Federation (WWF).

1. Use paper scarcely: Think twice before printing out an email, print on both sides and if possible print two pages per sheet
2. Recycle: Not only paper but also print cartridges, cans etc
3. Shut down: Your computer and everything else running before you leave for home
4. Food & Drink: Eat and drink out of containers which you can be washed and re-used like plastic lunchboxes and porcelain mugs
5. Car pool: If you have to drive to work everyday, try and organise a car pool or share a ride with at least one other person

Can Rebound Relationship Work

Many people get into a rebound relationship because they feel that they had unfinished things in the relationship.

Can rebound relationship work if you are not clear of your needs and why you are going back into the relationship, is it for love, security, freedom or a fear of being alone?

Unexpected

When you get into a relationship be it short or long term you are not set out to have a rebound relationship, your purpose is to build something long and it is only with time getting to know each other you will.

You may feel that the pain of the break up is too difficult for you and you may reach out for support from another.

If you lose yourself in another relationship so the pain of the first you hope will subside there is no guarantee that it will last.

Majority of relationship that are form after a break up do not last and it is no ones fault.

Hoping to fulfill the hole that you feel within cannot be fulfill by another.

Some get into rebound relationship to show to their ex that they are not feeling the pain of the relationship that was ended.

Whose truth?

When you hear from others that rebound relationships never last this is not true, let’s say the majority of rebound relationship does not work out that is truth.

Can it work

One of the reason why rebound relationship may not work is you are in another relationship and you are still missing, hurting for the other person, and the right thing to do would be to get some counselling to heal your problem.

If the person was already letting go of the relationship while they were in it because they have tried but to no end, they felt that the relationship can’t go any further and they started the letting go within.

When they meet the other person in a rebound way they had already done their grieving.

Rebound relationship can work if you have done some work on yourself.
It can work if you are not looking for the other person to fulfill you or be a substitute for your pass relationship.

Allow yourself to not bring your problems that you had in the past into your new relationship.

Do not expect the other person will act like your ex.

Give yourself and the relationship time to develop and start fulfilling your need.

Conclusion: A rebound relationship has little chance of surviving and yet it can depend on what was going on before in the other relationship.
